EditGetting black screen with TV module.
Black screen issue usually related to VMR or Overlay selection under Video settings.
Depending on your video card, you may need to change the selections from VMR to Overlay or Overlay to VMR.
Overlay may be used only once at the time, so make sure there is no other software using it.
If MPEG2 decoder is used (for PVR type cards), this also can be issue of decoder not supporting the VMR or Overlay.
EditAfter adding new movie or music file, I cannot see it under GAM.
GAM caching the movies and music catalog data.
After adding new movie or music file, use Refresh command on the catalog.
EditHow to close or hide GAM.
Going up from any menu in GAM exposes autoshow menu with Close, Hide and other options.
EditHow to show TV channel icons in GAM.
GAM looks for channel images under [GAM]\Guide\Data\Images directory.
It uses map.xml file under the same directory to map images to channels.
map.xml format is:
<imagemap>
<map id="I11829.labs.zap2it.com" image="img1.jpg" />
<map id="I11479.labs.zap2it.com" image="img5.jpg" />
.....
</imagemap>
'id' is the channels id, and 'image' is the channel image.
GAM EPG service will import the images if map.xml file is not found, so first import the images like in example below and then create the map.xml file.
Example for US icons import using XMLTV:
1. Delete the [GAM]\Guide\Data\Images\map.xml file.
2. Run XMLTV with tv_grab_na_icons parameter.
3. Next download of GAM EPG will import the channel images.
EditHDTV/DVB crash PsisDecd.dll while tuning or changing channels.
Some channels may crash the psi parser component (PsisDecd.dll) when using Win2K or WinXP/SP1.
Upgrading to WinXP SP2 should mostly solve this problem.
The most stable PsisDecd.dll and Mpeg2Data.ax components are provided with MCE 2005.
